2006 is the year for bringing together the diving community with a new focus and excitement. The DIVE Challenge_tm program is designed to keep divers diving and continue their education. Utilizing the current popularity of all the reality shows on TV/Cable, the DIVE Challenge_tm allows the underwater community to have their own reality program. The days of diving as a non-competitive hobby are over! It’s time to turn diving into a sport that allows divers to demonstrate their diving experience and quality of training through the DIVE Challenge_tm of friendly competition.

SPECIAL NOTE - 2006 CHANGES TO DIVE Challenge_tm

First change - based on popular demand, this Year the DIVE Challenge_tmwill not only include recreational divers, but expanded to include both professional divers (divemasters and instructors) and dive rescue teams.

Second change - the Underwater Navigation prerequisite has been dropped, but is still highly recommended.

The DIVE Challenge_tm is out right FUN! Only 10 teams (6 divers per team) are allowed to enter the 2006 DIVE Challenge_tm. The teams will start by going through an extensive Team Success_tm program over the course of 1 weekend designed to teach the divers to work together as a “Team” (there is no I in “Team”). During the teams training program, divers will be utilizing their Buoyancy, Navigation and Search and Recovery skills to survey, sketch, search, locating and build a pre-determined structure, under water.

Once all teams complete their Team Success_tm program, the competition will start ramping up. Teams will engage in 4 head to head Dive Challenges that will range from 1 to 2 dives per Team Challenge. The Teams will be briefed prior to the start of each Challenge. Only winning teams will advance to the next Team Challenge. Winning Team takes all!

Completing the Team Success_tm Program will be the Passport to allow Teams to enter directly into future Annual DIVE Challenge_tm held on Local, National and International levels World Wide providing divers have required advanced and specialty training.
